Anything

Break my comment record.

If you could have anything - I mean anything at all, what would it be? A Lincoln Towncar? A brownstone in Gramercy? A carton of Twinkies? A hundred bashful virgins? A cure for cancer? A monument to your greatness?

What would you choose if you could have absolutely anything. Genie in the lamp.. but only one thing.

What would it be?

A brownstone in Gramercy. No, seriously. The other option is a majestic and jazzy rooftop thing, but the main thing is, a home in Manhattan, and a brownstone's been the Big Fantasy since I was a teenager.

A genie that could grant me unlimited wishes.

Or about three more boys as good as the one I've got.

A sailboat. Big enough to live on. With a shoebox full of twenties onboard. And the carton of twinkies too, or maybe I'm just hungry.

Financial security. Sounds lame, but if I never had to worry about money again, ever, that would be an amazing thing. I'd take vacations, travel the world, send my kids to good colleges, do whatever the hell I want, but I'd never worry. Money might not buy happiness, but it helps.

Eh, if I can't have that, I guess at the moment, I'd like it if someone else kept the house clean for at least a month.

Or a pony.

Ha, I'm not going to be the ninkus that says "my one thing would be 10 more things."

There's always one guy who says that, right?

Anyway- this is TOUGH. So damn tough.

I honestly think that I'd go with financial security as well. Non money related though? it would be a perfect immune system. I'm always, ALWAYS sick.

I would have the ability to just create stuff for a living. I'd be that talented: music, writing, art... I'd be better than average at all of them and would be able to earn an income doing nothing else. I don't need to be rich, just not worry about money.

Oh. And I'd be able to do these things without having to participate in the schmoozefest within the music/literary/fine art communities.

Thanks genie :)

A house on the beach I could stay in whenever I want.

It has to be a thing, does it? I can't wish for health, long lives, and happiness for the people I love? Or enough time to do everything?

Well, if it has to be a thing? I'd like to have a really nice restaurant, where I could always get a table when I wanted to, and where the chef would prepare any dish I wanted.

Or, I'd like to have what they sometimes refer to as "f.u." money, where when my job really gave me the screaming heebie jeebies, I could say "f.u." to it, and go home and play all day.

If it were not a thing, I would wish for the love of my life and I to be together, but other than that
I wish for a beautiful home over looking the sea on the Oregon coast.

Unselfishly? A cure for cancer. I'm sure there are even more important things, but I can't think of them offhand.

Selfishly? A quiet little place overlooking the water in Amlwch or Aberdaron where I need not speak English unless I feel like it. Silly and weird, but true.

I think I'd go for financial security, too. Not necessarily riches, just the freedom from ever having to think or worry about things, and the freedom to share the wealth, too.
Or, if you want a tangible thing, then I'd say a house on Cape Cod.

I'd like to be able to combine B's love and devotion for me with G's everything else. Meaning, I want a guy with George's looks, personality, dancing ability, common history with me, shared values, and yes -- wealth. But add B's devotion and willingness to marry me, like tomorrow.

Then I'd have love, financial security, and instant children/family! And if I had all that, I probably wouldn't mind nearly as much that I got turned down for that promotion yesterday...

Complete financial security. NO worries Ever for the rest of my life. Not for me. So my husband would quit the half empty thing and enjoy TODAY! ;o)

Enough money to pay off our outstanding bills; that way, I could let my daughter do every extracurricular she wants to do, but which we can't afford.

I have to be a copy cat and say financial security...enough so that my husband and I could quit our jobs, travel, provide for our parents, kids and grandkids, and support our favorite charities.

For my m-i-l to be alive and free from cancer, so my husband (whom she gave up for adoption and they didn't find each other for almost 30 years) would be at peace again.

Either that, or the extreme suffering and subsequent deaths of the family that participated in the molestation of my stepsons.

Crap. Reader, that was a real downer of a comment. Feel free to delete.
